Brooklyn Women Find Snake In Their Living Room

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Four Brooklyn women found an unwelcome guest in their apartment last week.

The women discovered a snake curled up by a heater in their living room last Tuesday morning.

The women said they called 911 and police came to their apartment, but would not take the snake, CBS 2 reported.

The women said they then tried Animal Care and Control, but they never arrived, CBS 2 reported.

That's when the roommates decided to take matters into their own hands.

"I didn't feel comfortable with the idea of it being loose in here so I just wanted to get it out as soon as possible," resident Laura Tiereny said.

"I put it into a pillowcase and we took it on the G train," Tiereny's roommate said.

They brought the python to an animal rescue center. The snake has since found a home in Pennsylvania.
