NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) — A 10-year-old girl was grazed by a bullet early Saturday as she walked her dog in the Far Rockaway section of Queens.

The girl was grazed by bullet fired by a gunman on a bicycle shortly before 1:30 a.m., outside 22-29 Dix Ave. in Queens, police told 1010 WINS.

The victim was walking her dog with her mother at the time, police said.

It was not clear Saturday morning who or what the gunman was targeting, police said.

The girl was taken to St. John’s Episcopal Hospital in an unknown condition, according to police.
