NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police are looking for a suspect in a shooting that left one man dead in Brooklyn.

Officers responded to a call about a shooting on Erasmus Street near Nostrand Avenue in East Flatbush around 6:20 p.m. Monday.

Paul Setteducato, 64, of Midwood was found on the ground next to his Mercedes sport utility vehicle, shot in the head, shoulder and abdomen, 1010 WINS' Carol D'Auria reported.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police believe robbery was the motive in the shooting.

Setteducato worked for a real estate management company and police believe he was gunned down at close range while collecting the rents, D'Auria reported.

Setteducato had his phone and wallet on him when police arrived at the scene, but the rent money was gone, D'Auria reported.

Shocked neighbors described Setteducato as a hard-working family man who didn't deserve to be killed.

"He was very sweet," one neighbor, named Linda, said. "I was just in shock."

"It's him and his wife; the granddaughter sometimes comes to stay with them and that's it. They're great people," another neighbor, named Danielle, said. "She can't live without him. She can't be alone."

No arrests have been made.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Crime Stoppers hotline at 800-577-TIPS.
