Police: Man Who Fell Onto Third Rail On LIRR Tracks Was Attacked
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) — Early reports said a man who fell onto the third rail and died at the Bellmore Long Island Rail Road station had suffered a seizure, but police said Saturday evening that he was attacked.
A suspect has been arrested in connection with the incident.
The 49-year-old Freeport man fell onto to the tracks and came into contact with the third rail sometime before 5 a.m., Nassau County police said.
The initial call to 911 operators indicated that the man likely suffered a seizure, police said.
