Police: Suspected Burglars Struck 4 Times In 3 Weeks In Queens
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) — The search is on for two suspected burglars who police said have been targeting delis and restaurants in Queens.
The suspects have struck four businesses on Jamaica Avenue in the last three weeks, police said.
In the first incident, police said the suspects broke into Tony’s Famous Pizza just after midnight Aug. 24 and took cash from an office and an ATM.
On Aug. 31, police said the suspects made their way into the Richmond Hill Delicatessen through the basement door in the back of the store. Surveillance cameras captured the suspects crawling through the deli before making off with cash from an ATM, police said.
On Sept. 9, police said the suspects sneaked into Lizmelis Grocery through a hole in the wall of an adjacent unoccupied business and took cash from an ATM and register.
Just a day later, the suspects climbed through the window of El Cran Canario Restaurant and took off with cash from the ATM and register, police said
