Police: Man Tried To Sexually Assault Girl, 10, In Queens

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- A 10-year-old girl told school officials in Queens that a man tried to sexually assault her as she headed to school Monday morning.

The attack happened around 7:10 a.m. on 168th Street between Archer and Douglaston avenues in Queens, police told 1010 WINS.

The girl was on her way from one bus to another on her route to school when she was thrown to the ground by a man she described as being in his 30s, police said.

The girl kicked the man and he ran off, police said.

She then jumped on the school bus and reported the attack at school, police said.

No arrests had been reported in the incident as of Monday evening. A further description of the assailant was not issued.
