Queens Man Charged In Fatal Hit-And-Run Of Woman, 79
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- A 19-year-old man has been charged in the fatal hit-and-run Sunday of an elderly woman in Corona, Queens.
Police arrested David Rojas, of Elmhurst, Queens, on Monday and charged him with leaving the scene of an accident resulting in a death.
Cui Ju Yu, 79, of Corona, was rushed to Elmhurst Hopsital, where she later died, police said.
Witnesses said the woman was crossing Junction Boulevard around 3 p.m. Sunday when a green minivan struck her. A man in a nearby deli ran out and chased the van, but he could not catch the driver, witnesses said.
