Police Probe Shooting That Left Man Dead In New Cassel, Long Island
NEW CASSEL, N.Y. (CBSNewYork/AP) — Police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man near his Long Island home.
Nassau County police said the victim was shot Sunday afternoon on State Street in New Cassel.
Police responded to the scene around 3:30 p.m. Sunday They did not identify him.
A neighbor implored witnesses to come forward. She told Newsday the neighborhood is too close-knit for someone to not know what happened.
Another resident said the victim had lived in the neighborhood all his life.
Police on Monday were examining a surveillance camera for clues.
