Hot New Kitchen Gadgets On Display At Housewares Show In Midtown

NEW YORK(CBSNewYork) -- Many of these items have not yet hit stores but the latest houseware gadgets have been unveiled in Midtown.

There was something on display for everybody from wine lovers to weight watchers at the Housewares Show, CBS 2's Cindy Hsu reported.

A high-tech food scale lets users scan their food for nutritional information including calories, carbs, fats, and more.

"Anything that you can see on a USDA label, all the different fibers, sugars," explained The Orange Chef Company's Michael Tankenoff.

The Quick Whip is a huge time saver for anybody who wants to make their own whipped cream and another gadget can help you remove seeds from a pomegranate with the whack of a spoon.

A choco-nut cheese grater does a lot more than grate cheese.

"Here we have dark chocolate on one side and we have nuts on the other," one vendor told CBS 2's Hsu.

The ScanNCut can save tons of time for arts and crafts fans who can scan pictures and transfer the shape over to paper, fabric, or vinyl.

Liquid lovers may enjoy the H-Duo drink bottle which holds two separate beverages. If wine is more to your liking the Savino Wine Preserver is a great way to serve wine straight from a carafe and keep it fresh for up to a week.

All of the products at the show will be on the market within the next few months just in time for the holidays. The show was not open to the public.
