HUNTINGTON, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) – The Piano Man is returning to the stage on his home turf.

Billy Joel will perform at the Paramount Theater in Huntington Wednesday night, promoters announced Tuesday.

The Long Island native had been rehearsing at the venue last week for his upcoming European tour and spontaneously decided to hold a concert there, Newsday reported.

The performance will be the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame member’s first public Long Island show since he played Nassau Coliseum in 2002, the paper reported.

Tickets go on sale at noon Tuesday and will only be sold exclusively at Ticketmaster.com.

Prices range from $79.50 to $150. There is a two ticket limit per purchase.

A portion of proceeds will benefit Long Island Cares – The Harry Chapin Food Bank.
