Cops Search For Upper East Side Salon Burglar

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police are looking for a man who burglarized an Upper East Side salon, only to steal an empty cash register.

The suspect entered the Tulip Salon and Spa at 1185 Lexington Avenue through a window around 5 a.m. Monday, police said. He removed the cash register, which had no money inside, and then fled, authorities said.

Police have released surveillance video of the suspect. The man is described as being light-skinned and having cornrows in his hair. He was wearing a hooded sweatshirt and dark pants.

Police are asking anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at 800-577-TIPS or to submit a tip online at NYPDCrimeStoppers.com.
