Cops: NJ Man Responsible For String Of Garden State Robberies

ELIZABETH, N.J. (AP) -- Authorities believe a northern New Jersey man charged in two gas station hold-ups may also be responsible for a string of robberies across the state.

The New Jersey State Police say 45-year-old David Buckman III was arrested earlier in the week in his Elizabeth residence and charged with two robberies at gas stations along the Garden State Parkway.

A State Police spokesman says an investigation has determined that Buckman is allegedly responsible for seven additional robberies throughout the state.

It was not immediately known Saturday if Buckman has an attorney.

Police say Buckman allegedly robbed gas station attendants on Oct. 2 and Nov 2, by pulling up in a black sedan to request gas before brandishing a gun and demanding money.

Police say additional charges are pending from other jurisdictions.
