Cops: Armed Robber Has Struck 5 Times This Week

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- A man robbed five different people this week after claiming to have a gun with a silencer, police said.

Authorities are asking for the public's help in tracking down the suspect believed to be responsible for five armed robberies since Sunday in Manhattan and Brooklyn.

Police have released a surveillance video of the suspect. He is described as white, in his 30s, about 6 feet tall and bald.

Four of the robberies occurred on subway trains or platforms. The other occurred on East First Street between First and Second avenues in Manhattan. All of the victims have been males 15 to 30 years old.

Authorities are asking anyone with information about the robberies to call Crime Stoppers at 800-577-8477 or to submit a tip online at NYPDCrimeStoppers.com. All communications are kept confidential.
