Tri-State Area Residents Mark First Night Of Kwanzaa
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) — Thursday night marked the first night of Kwanzaa and dancers from the Something Positive Company helped kick off the holiday with a performance at the African Burial Ground National Monument.
Kwanzaa takes place from Dec. 26 through Jan. 1.
Each day, a different principle focusing on family, community responsibility, and self improvement is celebrated.
Thursday’s principle was unity.
