6 Injured After SUV Slams Through Front Of Freeport, LI Store

FREEPORT, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) - A two-car crash in Freeport, Long Island sent one driver slamming into the front of a store.

As WCBS 880's Sophia Hall reported, a brown SUV plowed into the Prestige Marble, Granite & Tile at East Merrick Road and Henry Street late Thursday morning.

"This is hurricane glass and this doesn't break easy. And when it broke, it all came crashing down and went on top of the hood," employee Brad Brocking told Hall.

A worker at the store said he was behind the counter when the SUV came through the front window.

Six people, including two small children, suffered non life-threatening injuries in the incident, according to officials.

"Just like, state of shock to see the little ones get out of the car and the ladies get out of the car. I was concerned. Like I said, my wife and kids - that's what went through my mind, that that could have been my wife and my kids," Brocking said. "Didn't seem like anybody was seriously hurt. I think it was more shock and upsetness and just being scared being involved in the accident."
