NEW YORK(CBSNewYork) — The NFL has started to transform Broadway from Herald Square to Times Square into a Super Bowl fan fest.
As WCBS 880’s Jim Smith reported, small businesses along that stretch have high hopes for the event.
“We sell freshly baked empanadas,”Newchas employee, Angel De La Santos said.
De La Santos and others are hoping that Super Bowl Boulevard will score them big points at the cash register.
“Definitely, it’s gonna be a lot more exposure so you know we’re definitely looking forward to that foot traffic definitely,” he said.
Workers at Newchas said that they can offer more than the standard street hot dog.
“We also have a lot of Argentine products like alfahodas, meira lunas, and we have a variety of meat, veggie, and sweet empanadas,” De La Santos said.
The outdoor fan fest runs during the week of the Super Bowl and will feature several stages and football themed activities.
