Boomer & Carton: Rangers And Knicks — Just Callin' It Like We See It

For the second straight day, it was hockey at the top of the list of show topics as Boomer and Craig opened things up reflecting on the action provided by the NHL trade deadline, which was highlighted by the Rangers swapping captain Ryan Callahan for Lightning captain Marty St. Louis (pictured in his Rangers sweater).

By the way, this was a deal Boomer said would happen a few weeks back.

So with hockey at the forefront  we had ourselves a happy Boomer, which is always a good thing.  Now the question become are the Blueshirts good enough to win the Stanley Cup?  Boomer isn't ready to predict they will, but he will certainly be rooting for it.

There was a time were New Yorkers were rooting for the Knicks to win a championship, now those once lofty expectations have been reduced rooting for the Knicks to win a game.  Well, losers of seven straight going into last night's game in Minnesota, the Knicks somehow managed to outscore the Timberwolves 118-106 through four quarters of play, which adds up to a Knickerbockers win. How 'bout that?!

The Nets also were on the winning side of things in their contest with the Grizzlies, the victory was their 30th of the season, against 29 losses, putting them one game over .500 for the first time all season.

Finally, with the NHL and the NBA out of the way, the deck was clear for Craig to praise Chelsea Handler - host of 'Chelsea Lately' on the E! - (and take a few shots at her) after she told a story on Howard Stern's radio show describing a heated, verbal exchange she apparently had with one Alex Rodriguez.

And there you have it, a well-rounded show open if their ever was one...
