Community On Edge Following Groping Incident In Nutley Park

NUTLEY, N.J. (CBSNewYork) -- Police are looking for a suspect who allegedly groped a woman in Nutley.

The incident happened just before 5 p.m. on Thursday. The suspect came up from behind a woman and touched her inappropriately, authorities said.

The woman had been walking her dog near a desolate section of Nichols Park near the waterfalls when the suspect struck. She was able to fend off her attacker but the incident has caused some neighbors and visitors to avoid the remote area of the park where the incident occurred.

"I'm walking in the street more, in the street not in the park," Ursula Zalewski said, "I'm looking around all over if there's something strange I come back."

The suspect has been described as a male, 6', 200 lbs, and was wearing  a navy blue hooded sweatshirt, and blue jeans.
