Couple Set To Appear On Maury Povich's Show Arrested After Alleged Hotel Fight

NORWALK, Conn. (CBSNewYork/AP) -- A Chicago couple who were scheduled to be guests on the talk show "Maury" got into a fight at a Norwalk hotel after the woman learned her boyfriend had an affair with her mother, police said.

Norwalk police told The Hour newspaper that John Coley, 46, and Shantae McGhee-Brown, 25, were charged with disorderly conduct and criminal mischief at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel on Connecticut Avenue on Tuesday night. McGhee-Brown also was charged with interfering with police.

McGhee-Brown told police she and Coley traveled to Connecticut to be on Maury Povich's daytime talk show in neighboring Stamford. Show officials say the couple was scheduled to be at a show taping Wednesday.

The woman told police she had thrown a vase and broken a table during the dispute, The Hour reported. Coley initially told officers McGhee-Brown was fighting with "another John Coley," police told the newspaper.

McGhee-Brown and Coley were each held on $100,000 bail and were expected to appear in state court Wednesday. It's not clear if they have lawyers.
