Off-Duty NYPD Officer Accused Of DWI In Brooklyn

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- An off-duty NYPD officer was arrested this past weekend, and charged with driving drunk and leaving the scene of an accident.

Officer Shieed Haniff, 30, was arrested at 11:57 p.m. Sunday in the 75th Precinct, in East New York, Brooklyn, police said.

He was charged with leaving the scene of an accident with injuries, driving while intoxicated, reckless driving, and refusing take a breath test, police said.

An NYPD release described the arrest as Haniff's first offenses.

Police did not provide details of the accident that led up to the arrest.
