Youngster In Church Asks Jesus Why He Made 'The Mets So Bad'

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Poor Mets fans.

New York, which has suffered five consecutive losing seasons heading into 2014, isn't off to a particularly great start.

After getting swept by the Nationals in the opening series at Citi Field, the Amazin's surprisingly took two out of three from the talented Cincinnati Reds. But a road trip with stops in Atlanta, Anaheim and Phoenix is upcoming, and things could get ugly in a hurry.

This club is not expected to contend for a playoff spot, and will in all likelihood finish under .500 for the sixth straight year.

It's a lot for Mets diehards to handle -- especially young diehards who have seen nothing but disappointment and heartache from this franchise.

One youngster turned to a higher power in the hopes of turning the Mets' fortunes around.

When Deadspin asked if this letter was in fact real, Zack Hutchins confirmed that it was. And he referenced "Seinfeld" when doing it, which made it extra fantastic.

Seriously, can you blame this kid?

We're here for you, Charlie. We feel your pain.
