New York Jewish Community Prepares For Start Of Passover

NEW YORK(CBSNewYork) — Monday marks the start of Passover.

The Jewish festival celebrates the freedom of the Israelites from slavery in Egypt.

Passover begins at sundown with a special dinner known as a sedar.

During Passover, Jews eat matzoh to honor their ancestors who ran in such a hurry that their bread never rose.
