Boomer & Carton: Nets Drawing Up A Plan To Lose?

With 14 games under their belts, the New York Mets are 7-7 and have people talking.  Two such people are the Dynamic Radio Duo known as Boomer & Carton, as they got this Wednesday morning radio party started with the Amazin's after their 9-0 win in the desert last night.

Boomer quickly shifted gears to the NHL playoffs, which get underway tonight (Flyers-Rangers series starts Thursday at MSG) and have the Blonde Bomber all sorts of fired up.  Craig was happy to inform his radio partner that he will be rooting on the Blueshirts at the Garden for Sunday's game, but Booms didn't seem to really care.

Moving right along to the hardwood as the Nets fell to the Knicks last night in Brooklyn and didn't really seem to mind.  There is a belief out there that Jason Kidd's team might be intentionally losing to avoid playing the Bulls in the first round of the NBA playoffs.  Whether or not this is true will probably never be known for sure, but Boomer and Craig both like the strategy.

Finally we got to the Jets.  Despite Chris Johnson leaving Florham Park with out a contract yesterday, Craig is still confident that the free-agent running back will sign with New York.  Craigie is also hearing that free-agent wide receiver Sidney Rice is also on Gang Green's radar.
