Tommy Lasorda: I Hope Sterling's Ex-Girlfriend 'Gets Hit With A Car'

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Tommy Lasorda isn't holding back when it comes to the Donald Sterling situation.

But the Los Angeles Dodgers icon is focusing his ire on Sterling's ex-girlfriend V. Stiviano, whose recordings of the Clippers owner making racist remarks sparked a national firestorm.

"I've been a friend of that guy's for 30 years," Lasorda told WPBF-TV in West Palm Beach, Fla. "It doesn't surprise me that he said those things. That doesn't surprise me. And he shouldn't have said it, and he just hurt himself by talking too much and doing things that he shouldn't be doing.

"And I'll tell you, I don't wish that girl any bad luck, but I hope she gets hit with a car."

Sterling was fined $2.5 million and banned for life by NBA Commissioner Adam Silver, who is also pushing for the 80-year-old to be forced out as owner of the Clippers.

Stiviano is under investigation for extortion, allegedly demanding cash from Sterling to keep hours of additional audio clips under wraps, according to TMZ. She's also "in the final stages" of adopting two teenage boys, the New York Daily News reported.

Lasorda, 86, was in Florida on Tuesday to deliver a speech at Northwood University's graduation ceremony. He also received an honorary doctorate degree.
