Solange Attacks Jay-Z, Standard Hotel Looks For Source Of Video Leak

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- A security video from a trendy Manhattan hotel's elevator shows pop star Solange Knowles kicking and punching Jay-Z, her superstar brother-in-law. Now, as WCBS 880's Marla Diamond reported, officials at The Standard Hotel are trying to figure out how the video got leaked.

The three-and-a-half minute video posted by TMZ on Tuesday shows Solange, her sister Beyonce, Jay-Z and a bodyguard enter the elevator May 5, after the celebs attended the Metropolitan Museum of Art's annual costume ball. Solange, lunges, swings and kicks at Jay-Z while Beyonce tries to break it up. A bodyguard intervenes and holds Solange back.

There is no audio, and it's not clear what triggered the outburst.

In a statement, The Standard's management said it is shocked and disappointed that there was a clear breech of its security system

"We are investigating with the utmost urgency the circumstances surrounding the situation and, as is our customary practice, will discipline and prosecute the individuals involved to our fullest capacity," the hotel said.
