WYCKOFF, NJ(CBSNewYork) — An odd burglary in Wyckoff, New Jersey had all of the hallmarks of the 1990s classic ‘Home Alone.’

“When they entered their house, what immediately caught their attention was water running our of the ceiling,” Wyckoff Police Chief, Benjamin Fox, told WCBS 880’s Marla Diamond.

As Chief Fox explained, the sink had been stuffed with towels.

“It was at that time that they discovered that the house had been burglarized and all the rooms had been ransacked,” he said.

The burglars left their mark and made off with a handgun and jewelry. Chief Fox said that the crime did not fit a pattern, but it was a bit bizarre.
