Friends, Family Rally In Support Of Shelter Worker Accused Of Putting Dangerous Dogs Up For Adoption

STAMFORD, Conn(CBSNewYork) -- Relatives, friends, and co-workers rallied in support of a pet shelter worker who has been accused of secretly putting dangerous dogs up for adoption.

Laurie Hollywood was fired in June, and arrested on charges of reckless endangerment, CBS 2 reported.

A city investigation showed that she had allegedly concealed records on dogs that were brought to the shelter after they had attacked people.

"She's just a very passionate person. She's very caring for the animals. She's very thorough and professional. She's always made sure that they went to a good home and it was a good fit with the family," shelter volunteer Carrie Sonne said.

One of the dogs adopted under Hollywood's supervision bit three police officers, another sent a person to the hospital.
