NEW YORK(CBSNewYork/AP) — The bodies of a man and a woman were found in a Staten Island hotel room on Friday.
The two, identified as Theresa Mateo, 37, of the Bronx, and Scott Jacobi, 35, of Staten Island, were found on the bed laying in each other’s arms in their room at a Hilton Garden Inn.
As 1010 WINS’ Roger Stern reported, police said that there were no signs of foul play and that a suicide note was not found at the scene.
The discovery left those close to the couple shocked.
“This is what’s killing me. I was up all night. I just can’t understand. He’s not a foolish way of thinking young man, he’s a responsible young man,” Terry Delre said.
The bodies were discovered when a maid was sent to the room after the couple failed to check out.
No weapons or evidence of drugs or drug paraphernalia were found, a police source told the New York Post.
