Make It A Reali-Tee: Bleacher Creature Calls For 'Jeet St.' Outside Yankee Stadium

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- "Bald Vinny" Milano says Derek Jeter also deserves a street named after him in the Bronx.

And he knows just the right spot.

Yankee Stadium is located at the iconic intersection of 161st St. and Rivera Ave., which was officially changed this year from "River Ave." in honor of the retired Mariano Rivera. The king of the Bleacher Creatures wants to see the captain up there too, perpendicular to his former teammate.

Bald Vinny isn't just selling the idea -- he's selling the shirt. He recently made a "Jeet St." tee available for pre-sale on his website, and he plans to have them shipped by the end of next week.

"I wouldn't have made the shirt if I didn't believe it could happen," he told CBSNewYork.com.

He said fans have been asking non-stop for a T-shirt honoring Jeter's final season, but it wasn't easy coming up with something just right.

Then it hit him.

"If you're gonna do (a Rivera street sign), you have to honor Jeter as well," he said. "I think Yankees fans will get behind it. I think it's the logical next step."

You can pre-order the shirt at section203.com. Bald Vinny also sets up shop on Rivera Ave. (outside Billy's Sports Bar) before and after every Yankees home game.
