Concern Over Small Particles Of Glass Prompts Corona Beer Recall
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) - Watch where you stick those lime wedges.
Constellation Brands announced Wednesday a recall of some six, 12 and 18-packs of Corona Beer.
Defects in some bottles may cause small particles of glass to break off and fall into the bottle, the company said in a statement.
The bottles were made by one of four manufacturers who produce the bottles for the company.
Less than one percent of the bottles produced by the plant are believed to be affected, the company said.
"We are troubled by this development and are working proactively with our distributors, retailers and consumers to resolve this situation as quickly as possible," said Bill Hackett, president of Constellation Brands Beer Division.
Anyone who has bottles marked with the following production codes can call 1-866-204-9407 for reimbursement information.
