Police: 2 Men Ran Into LI House To Escape Gang-Related Shooting
RIVERHEAD, N.Y. (AP) — Police say two men fleeing a gang-related shooting ran into a house in Riverhead, scared the woman who lived there and ran out a back window.
Riverhead Town police say the incident happened at about 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.
A woman who lives at a house on Segal Avenue said she heard several shots fired. Then two men ran into her house.
The woman said the men told her someone was shooting at them. Then they ran out a back window.
Police say the woman’s front window was shot out.
They say the shooting was probably gang-related and was intended as retaliation for a prior shooting.
