Police: Suspects Ripped Off Multiple Liquor Bottles From Astoria's Bohemian Beer Garden
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police were searching Friday for three suspects who ripped off multiple bottles of hard liquor from the Bohemian Hall & Beer Garden in Astoria, Queens.
Around 2:25 a.m. this past Tuesday, two suspects scaled the fence behind the beer garden, at 26-19 24th Ave. in Queens, while the third remained behind as a lookout, police said.
The suspects went inside and stole bottles of vodka, tequila, bourbon, scotch, rum and gin. All three then ran off, police said.
A total of 16 bottles were taken, police said.
Police have release surveillance photos of the three suspects outside the location, and two of them inside making off with their loot with their shirts partially over their heads.
The iconic beer garden bills itself as the oldest such venue in New York City. It has been open since 1910, and is owned and operated by the Bohemian Citizens' Benevolent Society to assist Czech and Slovak immigrants.
