Search For Robbery Suspect Forces Lockout At Roslyn Schools

ROSLYN, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) --A nearby robbery triggered a lockout at five schools in Roslyn Monday afternoon.

The schools were placed in lockout out of an abundance of caution after police notified Roslyn school district officials of a robbery suspect on the loose in the area, 1010 WINS' Carol D'Auria reported.

The lockout was lifted shortly before 3 p.m. and children were dismissed from school as usual, D'Auria reported.

A lockout means no one is allowed in or out of the building.

No details have been released about the robbery. It is unclear if the suspect was caught.
