Police: Man Wearing Surgical Mask Robs Nesconset Bank

NESCONSET, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) -- Police on Long Island are trying to find a man who they said robbed a Suffolk County bank while wearing a surgical mask.

It happened just before 11 a.m. Tuesday at a Capital One bank on Smithtown Boulevard in Nesconset.

The man walked into the bank, said he had a gun and demanded money, police said. The teller complied and handed over an unknown amount of cash from the drawer, police said.

The suspect then took off on foot.

Police describe the suspect as a white man between 30 and 40 years old, about 5 feet 10 inches tall with a medium build. He was wearing a wool hat, sunglasses, a dark sweatshirt, dark pants, white shoes and a surgical mask.
