Police: 3 Suspects Skimmed PIN Numbers From Staten Island ATMs

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police late Wednesday were searching for three suspects who stole PIN and debit card numbers using skimming machines and video cameras they installed on ATMs on Staten Island.

The men are suspected in three incidents reported to police.

On Monday, Sept. 8, a 19-year-old man living on Rathbun Avenue in the Woodrow section of Staten Island said unknown suspects accessed his bank account and took about $6,000, police said. The suspects made withdrawals at multiple locations between Sept. 8 and Sept. 17 in the Bronx, Brooklyn and Nassau County, police said.

On Thursday, Sept. 18, a 28-year-old man who lives on Cypress Loop in the Rossville section of Staten Island reported that unknown suspects got into his bank account and took about $758 between Sept. 16 and Sept. 17, police said.

On Monday, Sept. 22, a 41-year-old man living on Charleston Avenue in Rossville, Staten Island said unknown suspects took $1,106.52 from his account, withdrawing the cash from two locations in Brooklyn that day.

The suspects were described as white males who conceal their faces with glasses, hats and other clothing accessories during the ATM transactions. Police have released surveillance photos.
