Elaborate Decorations Turn Upper East Side Street Into Scary Tourist Attraction
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Elaborate Halloween decorations can turn almost any quiet residential street into a tourist attraction.
On Friday, CBS2's Vanessa Murdock took us to what might be the scariest street in the city.
Take a walk down on East 67th Street and you won't be alone; gawkers and goblins, Siamese twins and their pet vultures await you, and the grim reaper can be found holding his latest victim emerging from a hearse outside of 14 East 67th Street.
"This is beautiful. I love seeing stuff like this," David Gracia said.
The Greenbergs walked across the park from the West Side to see if they could be spooked.
"It's not that scary. It's adorable. It's fun," Dave Greenberg said.
Gustavo Betancourth rode his bike from Queens just to takes pictures. He admitted that his 5-year-old daughter would never set foot on the block.
"Totally afraid. All the fluids would be flowing," he said.
Two doors down is where the monsters live, and even their dog was out to say hello.
Erin O'Connor walks down the block just to share the creativity with her two little ones, but admitted it is probably too scary for them.
"She doesn't know how scary it is until mom gets scared by this guy right here," O'Connor said.
At least one of the homes on the block is open for trick or treating, the owner said that they have 50-lbs of candy on hand.
