Pennsylvania Brothers Accused In Multiple New Jersey Burglaries

NEWARK, N.J. (CBSNewYork/AP) -- Two Pennsylvania brothers were hit with federal charges this week, for their alleged roles in a string of commercial burglaries throughout New Jersey.

Eliezer Medina, 36, and his brother, Jose Medina, 38, were each charged with conspiracy charge, according to the U.S. Attorney's office.

Eliezer Medina also faces three counts of knowingly transporting stolen goods in interstate commerce, while his brother faces one count.

Prosecutors said the pair burglarized at least three stores in New Jersey between November 2013 and August 2014. They allegedly brought about $300,000 in stolen cash across state lines.

A federal judge in New Jersey on Friday ordered home detention with electronic monitoring for both men, who live in Lancaster County.

Both men face lengthy prison terms if convicted on the charges.
