Police: Teen Accused In Alleged Rape In Bronx School Classroom

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- A 19-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with an alleged rape in a Bronx school.

Kevin Simpson was charged in the alleged incident Tuesday at Bronx Prep Charter School, at 3872 Third Ave. in the Bronx, police told CBS2. The alleged rape took place in an empty classroom.

Police sources told the New York Post a 15-year-old girl was waiting in the classroom for a teacher who never arrived for tutoring session, and the suspect allegedly dragged her into a corner by the wrist and sexually assaulted her.

The victim reported the alleged assault to a friend, and then a teacher and a guidance counselor shortly afterward, sources told the newspaper.

The girl said she had been intimate with the suspect previously, but this time said no repeatedly and tried to get away, sources told the newspaper.

The newspaper reported Simpson was a senior at the school.
