11/23: CBS2 Sunday Evening Weather Headlines

By Matt DeLucia, CBS2 Meteorologist/Weather Producer

Well hopefully you had the chance to make it out and enjoy the nice weather today, because rain and wind is certainly on the way!

Expect precip to make its way into the area late tonight, becoming heavy at times during the overnight hours. You'll definitely want the umbrella and rain boots as you head out tomorrow morning, as it looks to be a pretty messy commute to start your Monday. Rain will linger for your day, especially before the lunch hour. We're looking at up to about an inch before it ends, with some localized amounts slightly above that.

Winds will also return for tomorrow, gusting to 30-40 mph for the city and up to 50 mph for eastern Long Island. The good news is it won't be a chilly rain. In fact, you can expect afternoon highs to bring back a taste of spring! After rising overnight, temps will top in the upper 60s to around 70.

It will be clearing out tomorrow night and at this point, Tuesday looks like the pick of the week! After morning lows in the upper 40s to around 50, we'll climb to the mid 50s under mostly sunny skies. Unfortunately, it's back to reality after that. Bummer, right?

We're watching a storm that will be forming and moving up the coast for Wednesday. Right now it looks like rain, heavy at times with snow mixing in north and west of NYC. We're a few days away, so things are still coming together. But at this point, the chance of wintry precip increases as you move inland from the coast. It will certainly be a messy commute around here for the busiest travel day of the year, so you'll definitely want to check back here tomorrow for updates!
