11/24 CBS2 Monday Afternoon Weather Headlines

By Justin Lewis, CBS2 Meteorologist

Hello, everyone -

With the bulk of the rain behind us, the remainder of the afternoon looks dry and breezy. And with breaks of sun expected, temperatures should soar well into the 60s to near 70°. There's even a few record highs in jeopardy, so we'll be keeping an eye on those!

Skies clear up bit tonight and we'll stay generally quiet... sunrise temps should get down to the low 50s.

Tomorrow we catch a break with quiet conditions and mostly to partly sunny skies. There will be a noticeable difference in temperature though... 10-15° cooler.

Then we turn our attention towards a coastal storm Wednesday into Wednesday night. We'll have more details in the days to come, but the thinking as of now is we'll see accumulating snow (especially north and west of the city) with mixing/rain in the city, along the coast, and to the east. Where we're expecting mainly snow, there is the potential for significant amounts (i.e., snowfall in excess of 6").

The bottom line is, this storm will likely affect our area on one of the busiest travel days of the year. So, whether you plan on traveling by plane, train, or automobile, be prepared for potential headaches.

Skies clear up just in time for Thanksgiving Day. And it will be chilly for the parade, but the winds will cooperate, so the balloons should fly!

Check back for more details on our coastal storm, as well as what you can expect on Black Friday!
