Latest Jets Billboard Urges Woody Johnson To Fire Idzik Or Sell Team

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Those behind FireJohnIdzik.com have moved on to their next target: owner Woody Johnson.

A digital billboard on Route 3 in North Jersey -- about a half-mile from MetLife Stadium -- no longer just reads "Fire John Idzik."

On Tuesday morning, the billboard read, "Woody Johnson: Fire Idzik Or Sell The Jets."

The Jets haven't addressed any rumors regarding Idzik's job security, though it's possible that Johnson will dismiss the general manager following what has turned out to be a disastrous season.

Head coach Rex Ryan is also believed to be on the hot seat, with the Jets set to miss the playoffs for the fourth consecutive season.

There has been no indication that Johnson has any intention to sell the team.

"This message change is not necessarily in response to (Monday night's) performance," Jason Koeppel, one of the founders of FireJohnIdzik.com, told Metro's Kristian Dyer. "We made a promise to our supporters that the longer this debacle dragged on, the louder we would get.

"What we want is for our owner to take responsibility for his mistakes. If he does not accept that responsibility and make the necessary changes, it will show Jets fans that he does not care. That is unacceptable and will shift 100 percent of the blame on to him."

The Jets were blown out by the Bills on Monday night to fall to 2-9.
