Police: 2 Slashed In Separate Incidents At Suburban New York Stores

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork/AP) -- Two people have been slashed in separate incidents at suburban New York stores on Black Friday, but authorities said the crimes were not related to shopping.

In Rockland County, a Costco employee in Nanuet stabbed another with a box cutter shortly before the store opened for business Friday, a Clarkstown police spokesman said.

A previous argument led to the attack, police said.

The 21-year-old victim was undergoing surgery and is expected to survive.

On Long Island, an 18-year-old was slashed around 2 a.m. Friday in front of a store at the Tanger Outlet Mall in Riverhead.

A police spokesman said the teen had an ongoing dispute with the aggressor.

There are no arrests and the teen isn't cooperating with police, the spokesman said. He wasn't critically injured.
