Father, Son Asbestos Inspectors Charged With Falsifying Records
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) - Father and son asbestos inspectors for a controversial Staten Island development project have been charged with falsifying records.
As WCBS 880's Peter Haskell reported, Gaspare and Paul Santoro indicated there was no asbestos found in Mount Manresa. Staten Island District Attorney Dan Donovan claims that's a lie.

"A search of these premises uncovered lab results from sample testing that revealed a positive presence of asbestos," Donovan said.
Both inspectors face felony charges, Haskell reported.
Mark Peters, commissioner of the Department of Investigation, said this is about more than just paperwork.
"We're talking about people who are putting New Yorkers at risk," he said.
Mount Manresa is a former Jesuit retreat that's being developed.
