Man Accused Of Stabbing Girlfriend To Death In Queens
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork/AP) - Police have arrested a 28-year-old man in connection with the stabbing death of his girlfriend on a street in Queens.
Police say it happened Monday in broad daylight on Watson Place in the Jamaica section.
Trevis Hall was arrested Wednesday and charged with second-degree murder and two counts of criminal possession of a weapon.
DNAInfo New York reported Hall is also a boxer known as "Black Mamba" and won the 2009 Golden Gloves championship.
The victim, 31-year-old Margarita Rivera, was found near her home stabled multiple times in the chest. She had also been beaten with a metal pipe.
Police say both weapons were recovered.
Police say Hall was at a hospital undergoing psychological evaluation.
Local media described him as a professional boxer.
Police say Hall had a history of domestic violence with the victim.
It was not immediately known if he had a lawyer.
