Students Treated For Exposure To Fumes At P.S. 24 In Sunset Park

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) - At least 40 people, including students, were treated for exposure to some sort of fumes at P.S. 24 in Sunset Park, officials said.

The incident took place just before noon Friday at 38th Street near 4th Avenue in Brooklyn.

At least one adult could be seen being taken from the school in a stretcher.

Emergency responders are at the scene. There's no immediate word on the source of the fumes.

Students who had been evacuated from the building were seen returning to the school. Officials believe the fumes are non-toxic and came from a nearby business.
