Taking a look at who's hot and who's not on the NY/NJ sports landscape:

THREE UP:

1. Rick Nash

Has recorded points in eight consecutive games (with nine during that span), and now has 18 goals on the year. He's on fire.

2. Odell Beckham Jr.

Continues to impress, picking up 130 receiving yards on 11 receptions en route to a 36-7 win over Tennessee.

3. Islanders' "Kid" Line

Ryan Strome, Brock Nelson and Anders Lee have 48 points combined, and have been the team's most dominant line over the last several games. The Islanders, coming off a tough loss against St. Louis, are one point out of first place in the Metropolitan Division.

THREE DOWN:

1. Jets

Geno Smith

Another loss for Gang Green, another reminder of the sweeping changes that must be made when this season comes to an end. QB Geno Smith summed it up best, saying, "It's almost exciting to think about all the room for improvement that we have." I'll give him this: He's not short on optimism.

2. New York Hoops

Even royalty couldn't save the floundering Nets from LeBron and Co. Meanwhile, the Knicks continue to be everything we knew they would be, which isn't a good thing.

3. Yankees' Bullpen

David Robertson

The Bronx Bombers were able to snag Andrew Miller, but they subsequently lost David Robertson, leaving a gaping hole in their bullpen. They need a closer, and Miller could be the guy to step into that role.
