Man Killed On Manhattan Street; Kin Says He Was Bringing Gifts To Kids

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork/AP) -- Police are trying to find a killer who gunned down a man said to be delivering Christmas gifts to his children Sunday.

The NYPD is looking for a suspect in Rashaun Nicholson's death in lower Manhattan. The 31-year-old was shot in the head around 7 p.m. on Catherine Street, in an area between the Manhattan and Brooklyn bridges, police said.

Kevin Nicholson told newspapers his brother was bringing Christmas presents to his four children when he was killed. He said the children live in a nearby housing complex.

Kevin Nicholson said his brother had been back in New York for the holidays after working in South Carolina recently.
