Search Is On For Man Who Tried To Rob Off-Duty Cop At Gunpoint

NEW YORK(CBSNewYork) -- The NYPD has asked the public for help in tracking down a man who robbed an off-duty cop at gun point.

At 1:10 a.m. on Saturday, December 6, the masked suspect approached the 30-year-old victim, brandished a firearm, and told the officer not to move.

The off-duty cop drew his firearm, took cover, and identified himself to the suspect. The suspect announced that he was going to kill the officer and fired a shot before fleeing the scene.

The suspect has been described as a black male in his 20s, he is 5'7" and weighs 150-lbs.
