Suspected Water Main Break Leaves FDR Drive Flooded In East Harlem

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- The southbound FDR Drive was flooded in East Harlem Thursday evening, from what was suspected to be a water main break.

The southbound FDR around 120th Street was filled with water during the evening rush, Joe Biermann reported from Chopper 2.

Traffic was still passing through, but at a slowed pace. Traffic troubles were also seen on the Harlem River Drive ahead of the merge onto the FDR.

The source of the flood was not immediately clear, but it was believed likely to be caused by an underground water main break, Biermann reported.
