NYPD Officer Accused Of Patronizing Prostitute In Brooklyn

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- An NYPD officer was arrested this past weekend on charges that he patronized a prostitute in Brooklyn.

Officer James Abel, 34, was arrested around 12:15 a.m. this past Sunday in the 75th Precinct, which includes East New York and Cypress Hills, Brooklyn, and was charged with patronizing prostitute, police said.

A police source told the New York Daily News that the charges were the product of an NYPD Internal Affairs investigation.

Police did not release further details.
